The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) is looking for judges to adjudicate exhibits for over 20 award categories during the inaugural Zimbabwe Agricultural Show which is set to be held from 19 to 24 August 2019. The show organiser appealed to interested potential judges in a notice which it issued this week.

ZAS indicated that “to further elevate the appeal of the show and entrench the culture of transparency, fairness and accountability, the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society seeks to engage reputable judges for the commercial exhibits at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, which runs from 19 to 26 August 2019.”

“Judging is for 26 trophies in various categories including new exhibits, best garden display, best postal and telecommunications  company, best health care company, best manufacturing company, best local government department, best agriculture value chain exhibits, best SME, best security services company, best parastatal/state enterprise, best integration and value chain development in agriculture from field to fork, best educational institution, best media institution, best arts, culture and sports exhibit, best construction company and the best overall exhibit,”

Commenting on how exhibitors would benefit from participating in various trophy awards, the main national agricultural show organiser highlighted that the awards would raise the profiles of the exhibiting organisations.

“The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show presents a unique and annual opportunity for companies to benchmark their standards and compete for various sponsored trophies which distinguish them ahead of the “pack” in their chosen spheres of business during 2019,” ZAS said.

The association indicated that the entry deadline is mid-day on 19 August while judgement of stands would be carried out the whole of the following day. The winners will be announced during the official opening ceremony on 23 August.
