In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) last week consulted its members to get their input on the preparations for the 2020 edition of the association’s annual convention which is set to be held next month.
In a message to the association’s members and stakeholders, MAZ Executive Secretary, Gillian Rusike appealed for input on what would be deliberated during the convention.
“In order to add value to your knowledge, we are soliciting for areas/topics that you need to be covered at this year’s conference to hosted mid-October,” said Rusike.
The marketers’ professional body also invited members to suggest speakers for the event.
“If you are also interested in specific speakers please let us know as well so that we get in touch with them as soon as possible,” Rusike said in his message.
MAZ also asked its members to put forward suggestions on how best the association could hold the event in view of lockdown restrictions such as the attendee number limit of 50 and social distancing.
Rusike invited members to submit “any ideas to make the conference a success in view of the COVID-19 parameters.”
MAZ followed the appeal with an online short survey to determine the need to incorporate a virtual component to the event to cater for members who could not attend in person for reasons such as costs or fears of the coronavirus. The information so obtained would enable MAZ to price and configure the convention in view of the need to adhere to the 50 people stipulation and social distancing requirement.
