With the ongoing global vaccination against COVID-19 having started in Zimbabwe last month, organisers of exhibitions and other business events are hopeful that this will spell the return of normal eventing in the country.

One event organisers, who are fervently hoping that the COVID-19 vaccinations will see the return of business events, are the Garden Club that runs the Annual Garden Show. The club posted on the event’s Facebook page expressing hope that the vaccination roll out programme would enable it to bring back the show.

“We’re hopeful that the mists of COVID (19) are clearing with vaccine rolling out. Please save the date for a spring re-emergence of The Annual Garden Show!” read the post.

The show is set to be held on 28 and 29 August 2021 under the theme “Mimic nature – Heal, regenerate (and) grow” at Parklands, an events venue in Borrowdale Park, Harare. The show is expected to be open from 0830 to 1630 hours during the two days.

After postponing the 2020 edition of the event in May last year, the Garden Club has retained its exhibitors and is ready for the show.

“We’re so excited to get our exciting family of (the Annual Garden Show) TAGS exhibitors back together – with amazing garden designs and so many gorgeous things to buy and get inspiration for (the) home and garden,” the Garden Club said in a Facebook post this week.

According to the Club, some of the highlights of this year’s show include new garden designs, plant sales, the Garfunkel’s foodie market and saw power talks. The other attractions are demonstrations, a free hand tool clinic, décor and organic food among others.

Apart from the show, the Garden Club runs gardening courses and talks that garden enthusiasts, with lots or limited knowledge, can enjoy together.
