Following a successful outward seller mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in May, the trade promotion agency, ZimTrade has organised a business forum to create business linkages between the two countries during this year’s Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

In a statement issued yesterday, ZimTrade highlighted that the event would be held on 24 August at the Holiday Inn hotel in Bulawayo.

“We highlighted the export opportunities in DRC. Now we have made it even simpler to take advantage of them by facilitating a business forum at ZITF,” read part of the statement.

According to the agency, the event is expected to make (the) transition for prospective sellers to the DRC market easier.

“The business forum is going to bring together policy makers, investors, business enterprises and business support organisations to discuss ways to develop sustainable trade between the two countries,” ZimTrade said.

The forum is expected to be followed by business-to-business meetings and company visits.

ZimTrade emphasised that only companies with the capacity to supply foreign markets and are export-ready would be considered to attend the event.
