The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company has announced the dates for this year’s edition of the ZITF. The company’s board chairman, Busisa Moyo announced in a statement today that the multi-sectoral international exhibition will be held from 26 to 30 April 2022.

“The ZITF Company board and management wish to officially inform all stakeholders that His Excellency, The President of Zimbabwe Dr E D Mnangagwa has approved the hosting of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair from 26 to 30 2022,” said Moyo.

The event will be held under the theme: “Re-think, Re-imagine, Re-invent value chains foe Economic Development.”

“The theme locates ZITF as the nerve centre for driving adaptability, agility and resilience. It highlights the need for disruptive thinking enabling economic players to identify future disruptors, craft and implement change strategies as the environment and needs of the business/economy change,” the ZITF boss said.

“Exhibition bookings are now open and the response to the sales and marketing efforts has been very positive,” Moyo said.

Moyo assured the event’s stakeholders of a Covid-19 safe show as he pledged that his company would take all the necessary measures to ensure that everyone will be safe.

“Based on the success and learnings of last year’s show, the ZITF Company wishes to assure its various stakeholders of its commitment to ensuring that all reasonable steps will be taken to promote and maintain safe and healthy conditions for participants,” he said.

“We will continue to work with local and national health authorities to format the show in a manner that complies with health and safety regulations and minimise exposure risk to Covid-19,” Moyo assured.

If the ZITF Company, a parastatal under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, manages to hold the event in April, this would mark the return of the event to its traditional slot of April annually. Last year the event was held in September while the previous year it was not held due to lockdown measures put in place by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19.
