The Hospitality Exhibition (HospEx) is set to be held on 28 and 29 October this year after a 21-year hiatus. This was announced by the organisers on their social media pages. The exhibition is an annual international hotel/restaurant/cafe (HORECA), food and beverages (F&B), and tourism trade show.
The event, which is running under the theme, “Adding insight,” will be held at the Cresta Lodge in Harare.
The organisers indicated that the event presents so much to experience and draw inspiration from for participants and visitors. They highlighted that HospEx is Zimbabwe’s biggest gathering of players in the hospitality and food service industries. They further pointed out that the event presented an opportunity for face-to-face interaction and networking.
“There are many reasons why face-to-face networking is more important than ever. In a post-pandemic world, connecting in person delivers the ability to re-establish relationships and re-energise your marketing,” the organisers posted on the event’s Facebook page.
Turning to the highlights of the exhibition, the organisers stated that concurrent workshops would run alongside the show. These will cover topics like restaurant, kitchen and bedroom design.
“Three exciting workshops have been set up to run each day during the two days of HospEx. The workshops will give great insight into trends in these important areas of design and will have broad appeal and interest,” the organisers posted on Facebook.
Another highlight of this year’s edition of the HospEx is the culinary expo and competition which is going to be synchronised with the main show.
“Chefs from all walks of life are welcome to attend but participation is reserved for affiliated members of the Zimbabwe Chefs Association (ZCA) whose subscriptions are fully paid,” the organisers explained.
Apart from ZCA, the event has also been endorsed by the Restaurant Operators Association of Zimbabwe (ROAZ) and the Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe (HAZ). It has been sponsored by the event management and hiring company, Rooney’s, food service solutions provider, Moldon and Cresta Lodge.
Over 20 brands and companies have already taken up space to exhibit their goods and services during the exhibition.
