Following Government’s recent opening of the tourism sector and its announcement last week that flights would resume, the Victoria Falls-based Elephant Hills Resort and Conference Centre has opened its doors to the public again.
“Elephant Hills Resort and Conference Centre is open and we are ready to welcome you back to the smoke that thunders,” the hospitality company announced this week on its Facebook page.
The hotel indicated that it had reopened for leisure and business events such as business meeting under strict COVID-19 safety measures.
“From business conferences to leisure retreats you are in safe hands. We are adhering to strict WHO recommended Covid-19 safety guidelines,” the hotel posted.
The hotel, which is part of the African Sun leisure group, was closed together with 13 other hotels in the group in April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government has been gradually easing lockdown regulations and opening up the economy as part of its economic recovery efforts following the debilitating lockdown measures which were adopted to reduce the spread of the disease.
Last week the government said in a statement that domestic flights would resume on 10 September while international flights would commence on 1 October.
Under the new system travellers would be required to have a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) COVID-19 test clearance certificate issued by a recognised facility within 48 hours from the date of departure.
