One of the country’s premier exhibition stand designers and manufacturers, the Harare-based Showmasters, has ceased operations. The company issued a notice to this effect this morning on various social media platforms.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we, the Showmasters team will be closing our doors as from today. We have enjoyed working with all and thank you for your support over the last 36 years,” read the statement.

Founded in 1998, the company operated in partnership with another major events supplier, Rooney’s Hire Service. According to its website, it was run by Rory Rooney as the managing director and marketing executive, Makomborero Mbanje.

Showmasters was one of the leading suppliers of exhibition designer stands, both design and shell schemes, and exhibition equipment in Southern Africa.

It was one of the suppliers of Covid-19 fighting equipment like sneeze guards.
