A Harare-based meat trader, Three Little Farmers (Private) Limited is set to host a meat industry exhibition in Harare next month. Dubbed the MeatZimExpo, the event is pencilled for 1 to 3 December at the Agricultural Research Trust (ART) Farm, an open-air venue in Pomona, Harare.

“The MeatZimExpo is an unprecedented event that marks a significant milestone for the meat industry. This exciting opportunity affords all players in the industry an incredible platform to come together under one roof. The benefits of such an event are immeasurable as exhibitors can showcase not only their latest supplies and technologies but also have the chance to network with other like-minded individuals and businesses.

“The potential to identify new markets through the connections made during the event is nothing short of remarkable and should not be missed. As we continue to move into an ever more diverse and complex future, the MeatZimExpo presents a unique opportunity to stay ahead of the game and keep up with industry trends and advancements,” the organisers said in a statement recently.

According to the organisers, exhibitors stand to benefit in a number of ways which include discovering new market trends and technologies in the industry. The show will enable exhibitors to meet new prospective buyers and suppliers as well as establishing new contracts and agreements. Exhibitions of this nature enable exhibitors to connect, cultivate and restore relations with current and former customers.

Exhibitors participating in the event will be able to map a complete and unimpaired image of the market in the meat industry. They will be able to discuss the prospects of the industry’s development and the measures to be taken to ensure the food security of the country’s population. The show will enable exhibitors to showcase and demonstrate skills within the industry.

Apart from individual consumers such as housewives and cooking enthusiasts, Three Little Farmers extended an invitation to other meat industry stakeholders such as educational institutions like universities, schools and colleges among others. Abattoirs, restaurants, catering companies, fast food takeaways, bakeries and wedding planners are also expected to be part of the visitors and participants at the exhibition. Hotels, hospitals, event caterers and relevant government ministries and departments are expected to participate in the event.

The company indicated that it is expecting 150 exhibitors.

A Bulawayo-based rabbit meat company, Midesha (Private) Limited, hosted a rabbit meat show at Mystique Event Centre, Bulawayo in November last year. Meat exhibitions are popular in countries such as Belgium, India and Spain among others where they are used to market meat, meat processing technology, packaging and meat processing equipment.
