The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ)’s annual Marketers’ Convention is set to be held next week from 21 to 23 October at Troutbeck Inn in Nyanga under the theme, “Marketing 5.0: Reconfiguring business in the new normal.”
Following consultations with its members at the end of August, the association adopted a hybrid approach to the event to enable it to meet the lockdown requirement for all in-person events not to exceed the 50 attendee figure stipulated by Government. This will allow other attendees to follow the proceedings virtually.
“Cognisant of the Covid 19 pandemic, and regulations we have two (attendance) options, the virtual and the physical attendance. The onsite participation is scheduled to be hosted at Troutbeck, Nyanga and is open to only 50,” the association said.
According to the association’s messages on its various media pages, some of the highlights of the events include the Exceptional Marketing Awards and panelist sessions to discuss strategies for business reconfiguration.
A number of local and foreign speakers are expected to address the convention on various issues.
“Our 12th Annual Marketers Convention is bigger and better this year with an array of international, regional and local speakers who are revered in their various sectors and fields,” the association said
Some of the local speakers include First Capital Bank Group Head of Marketing and Communications, Dennis Mambure, BancABC Chief Executive Officer, Dr Lance Mambondiani and National Foods Head of Marketing, Lawrence Kutinyu among others.
Foreign speakers who are expected to present during the event are Spanish digital innovation agency, Bond co-founder, Marc Mekki, Corporate Shepherds Limited Chief Executive Officer, Idorenyen Enang of Nigeria and Famous Digital Media of South Africa Chief Executive, Maxine Bolt.
MAZ’s 2020 Marketers Convention is among a number of local business events which are set to be held in the hybrid format to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 requirements.
