The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company has released the dates for the conferences, confexes and exhibitions that it is set to hold this year.
The parastatal behind the annual Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) posted its 2023 events calendar on its various social media platforms last week.
According to the calendar, the ZITF is pencilled to run from 25 to 29 April under the theme, “Transformative innovation, Global competitiveness.” From 25 to 27 April, the company is expected to host a Buyers Programme while the concurrent ZITF International Business Conference is set for 26 April. The 27th of April will be a very busy day when the ZITF Golf Challenge, the CZI/ZITF Manufacturers Breakfast Meeting, the Connect Africa Symposium and the Diplomats Forum will be held concurrently.
On the following day, the ZNCC Business Luncheon will be held. The trade fair will be officially opened on the same day. The last two days of the event will be public days. These will include a public entertainment programme.
The Mining, Engineering and Transport Expo (MineEntra), which has been traditionally held in July, is scheduled for 28 to 30 June. The Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Conference and Exhibition (AfriConfex), which was introduced in October last year, is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 September.
It appears that the Water, Sanitation and Energy (WASH) Confex, which has been held in September annually over the years, has been dropped and replaced by a new event, the Climate Change Conference which is set to run on 5 and 6 October. The ZITF Company skipped the WASH Confex last year despite the fact that its event schedule ran normally following the relaxation of global travel restrictions and local Covid-19 safety protocols.
