A new exhibition, which connects key players in the construction and building industry, is set to be launched in Harare this month. Named Buildex, the event is set to run from 23 to 25 June at the Golden Conifer events venue in Harare.
The event, which is being organised by digital marketing agency, Sabistar Digital (Pvt) Ltd is expected to bring together stakeholders in Zimbabwe’s construction industry.
“The exhibition will showcase all the latest possibilities in Zimbabwe, providing extensive networking opportunities and attracting attendees from contractors, architects, engineers, housebuilders, developers, real estate agents, interior decorators and many related suppliers. Day one will be exclusively for the trade, whilst days two and three will be open to the public,” said Sabistar Head of Exhibitions and Events, Farai Katoma.
Some of the highlights of the event include a virtual conference, product demonstrations and the introduction of the Architecture and Interior Decorating Awards.
“In addition, guest speakers from all areas of the industry will contribute to an online conference, access to construction documents resources, live product demos, and a networking party, and Buildex will be launching, for the first time, Zimbabwe’s Architecture and Interior Decorating Awards, which will be based on the presentations of the stands,” Katoma said.
Some of the speakers who are billed to participate in the online conference include author and speaker, Azhar Khan, Australian property developer, Paul Cohen and Katoma.
The organisers’ events official emphasised the importance of networking and the benefits that one derives from events such as Buildex.
“Being visible and getting noticed is an essential benefit of networking for business growth. Active networking keeps you at the forefront of people’s minds when opportunities such as partnerships and joint ventures arise. In addition, it increases of receiving introductions to potentially relevant people or even a referral,” said Katoma.
The advent of the Buildex show comes less than a year after the ZITF Company, the Bulawayo-based organisers of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, introduced a construction and built environment exhibition, the Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Confex (AfriConfex) in October last year.
