MAZ Annual Marketers Convention set for Bulawayo

The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) is set to hold this year’s edition of its Annual Marketers Convention at Holiday Inn in Bulawayo.

The convention, which is the eleventh, will run from 30 October to 2 November under the theme, “Engaging strategic marketing in a dynamic environment – expanding horizons.”

“Annual Marketers Convention is the biggest gathering attended by marketing, public relations, sales and customer service professionals in Zimbabwe and the region.
“It brings together business professionals from diverse sectors of the economy to brain-storm, exchange ideas and create networks,” the association said recently.

The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa is expected to be the guest of honour while a number of speakers such as MAZ President  Danny Marandure, United Refineries managing director Busisa Moyo, Breva Beverages (South Africa) chief executive officer Gladys Mawoneke, ZimTrade chief executive officer Allan Majuru, Select Research managing director, Tov Manene and Rob Strangroom of Big Law Managing Consultants among others will speak to delegates on a number of marketing-related topics.

Mawoneke, who is also the founder of Breva Beverages, a South African-based 0 percent alcohol malt beverages manufacturer, is set to speak on the topic, “Building a business from scratch.”

Other key topics for discussions include consumer response in turbulent times, exploring foreign markets and Big data, digital marketing and artificial intelligence integration into marketing strategy.

MAZ indicated that annual meet would include panelist session which will tackle topics such as the relationship between the economy and marketing orientation as well as personal, grooming and etiquette in the digital world.

The association gave out the major highlights of the convention as a culture night, a game of golf, a visit to the Matopos and the Exceptional Marketing Awards night.
