The country’s tourism promotion body, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is set to host the 2023 Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) Executive Summit next month in Victoria Falls.

The ZTA announced the event, which is set to be held from 20 to 23 June, last week.

“Business events are a key component of our tourism. We are excited to share that Zimbabwe will be hosting the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence Executive Summit 2023 in Victoria Falls,” the parastatal posted on its Facebook page.

One of the highlights of the event is an educational seminar which is pencilled for 21 June at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. SITE executive board members, who will be in the country for the incentive summit, are expected to present during the seminar.

The SITE board of directors comprises high-profile incentive travel professionals some of whom own incentive houses.

The summit is a culmination of the ZTA’s efforts to bring international meetings to Zimbabwe under its “Meet in Zimbabwe” campaign, which it launched in October 2021.

According to celebritycorporatekit.com, incentive travel refers to a trip designed to motivate, incentivise, and reward employees or business associates. This type of trip could range from being given to one individual, all the way up to large group awards made available only after certain targets have been met throughout the year.

Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Chicago, in the United States, SITE is a professional association of 2 500 members located in 90 countries working in corporations and agencies across the entire destination supply chain.
