OK Zimbabwe Group Marketing Director, Juliet Ziswa is set to speak at the Second Annual African Marketing Confederation Conference which is pencilled to be held from 6 to 9 September at the Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel, Entebbe in Uganda. This was disclosed by the event’s host, the Uganda Marketers Society (UMS) last week.
The event, which going to be held under the theme: “Africa’s $3.4 trillion Economy: Opportunities for Marketers,” is a key annual event of the continental marketing body, the African Marketing Confederation (AMC).
“Juliet is a brand maverick who has demonstrated a history of developing purpose-driven brand experiences and campaigns. Her personal purpose in life is to build people and build brands,” UMS posted about Ziswa on its LinkedIn page last week.
“Juliet will share invaluable experiences and marketing strategies that have contributed to her success. This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss, whether you’re a marketing professional, entrepreneur, or simply passionate about the industry,” AMC posted on its LinkedIn handle.
On her part, Ziswa confirmed the speaking assignment, which she cherished as an opportunity to rub shoulders with international marketers.
“Looking forward to sharing the stage with international marketers,” she said.
Ziswa is a strong marketing professional with over 20 years experience in developing, building and growing brands profitably across geographies (Middle East, Eastern, Western and Southern Africa), categories, portfolios and brands.
Locally she had stints in various marketing capacities with fast-moving consumer goods manufacturer, Unilever which took her to Kenya and the United Arab Emirates. Ziswa also worked as the mobile network operator, NetOne’s Marketing Director before moving to d.light of Kenya as a Marketing Director. She moved to Zola in Tanzania as a Group Marketing Operations and Customer Activation Director. The marketer joined OK Zimbabwe two years ago.
Apart from Ziswa, other speakers who are expected to speak at the conference are Chartered Institute of Marketers (CIM) Strategy and Commercial Director James Sutton, AHK Corporation Chief Executive Director Ali Hussein Kassim, MultiChoice Africa Holdings Head of Consumer Marketing and Public Relations Nondumiso Ngobese Mabece and Nation Media Group Head of Marketing Philbert Julai Mdindi. Other speakers are investor and strategist Yaw Nsarkoh, Upfield Head of East and Southern Africa Marketing Pheodor Mundi and Marketing Scholar and Ghana Communication Technology University Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Ebo Hinson.
According to the AMC website, the conference aims to showcase the untapped potential of Africa’s vast market, providing attendees with valuable insights and tools to explore new business opportunities. The confederation highlighted that Africa’s population of over 1.3 billion people and rich natural resources presented the continent as an attractive market for marketers seeking new ventures.
The conference is expected to take various formats which include keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and panel discussions to equip the delegates with the knowledge and skills to tap into the continental market.
According to UMS, other activities that the delegates to the conference should expect include boat cruises, golfing and themed nights among others.
